Sculptra is not a filler, and judging it early is how people decide it did not work

This is the correction I make most often in this room, and it is almost never the patient's fault. The two treatments sit next to each other on every menu in Boca, including mine.

The actual difference

Filler occupies space from the day it goes in. You can see it on the way out of the appointment, swelling aside. That is the whole mechanism.

A collagen stimulator does not do that. It works by prompting your own tissue to respond, over months, across a series of sessions. If you walk out of the first appointment looking exactly the same as when you walked in, that is the treatment behaving completely normally.

Which is why the timeline matters

Judging Sculptra at four weeks is judging it at the wrong time. Judging it after one session is judging half a treatment. I will give you the honest number of sessions I think you need before you start rather than after the first one, because if your calendar or your budget will not carry the whole course, I would rather you waited than started it.

The part people do not ask about

It cannot be dissolved. Hyaluronidase does nothing to it. That is not a warning, it is just a fact that ought to be in the room before the first session, and it is why I am conservative with it and why the conversation beforehand is a long one.

Who I would point elsewhere

• Anyone who wants to see a change this month.
• Anyone with an event in the next few months expecting this to be ready for it.
• Anyone who cannot commit to the full series. A half-finished course is money spent on nothing.
• Anyone who actually wants filler. Sometimes that is the right answer and I will say so.
