In Boca, the right treatment in the wrong month is the wrong treatment

Everywhere else, seasonality in aesthetics is mostly a marketing idea. In South Florida it is a clinical one, and it changes what I will book.

Resurfacing asks something of you afterwards

Ablative resurfacing removes tissue and then asks you to stay out of the sun properly for weeks. Some people genuinely will. In Boca in August, plenty of people genuinely will not, and they do not know that about themselves until they are three days in and there is a boat involved.

So I ask. And if the honest answer is that the sun avoidance is not going to happen, I would rather move you to October than watch it go badly. That is not me being difficult about scheduling. Sun exposure on freshly resurfaced skin is the thing that produces the outcome nobody wanted.

What summer is actually good for

Device work and laser series. The people who are here year-round can start a course now and be finished before the season, and the treatment rooms are quieter in August than they will be in November.

What October changes

Around 145,000 people arrive in Palm Beach County from October. The calendar tightens, and it tightens first for injectables in the run-up to the holidays. If you know you want tox before Thanksgiving, the useful move is booking it in September.

The short version

• Now through September: devices, lasers, resurfacing, and starting anything that runs as a course.
• October onward: injectables, and book earlier than feels necessary.
• Any month: anything with no downtime attached to it.
